The talk grows out of a series of reports that Wright commissioned Gullo to undertake that explore the histories and land usages of the 13 Willamette Valley vineyard properties that Wright farms and/or sources for his award-winning lineup of site-specific Pinot Noir wines. Beginning in 2015, Gullo has researcedh and written about properties like the Freedom Hill Vineyard, Canary Hill Vineyard, Latchkey Vineyard, Abbott Claim Vineyard and others Wright sources. The properties are spread out across the valley and lie in several of Oregon’s AVAs, including the Yamhill-Carlton, Ribbon Ridge, Dundee Hills and Eola-Amity Hills.
Ken Wright is an award-winning winegrower of Ken Wright Cellars, based out of Carlton, Oregon. Throughout decades of winegrowing, Ken has been recognized as a leader in the industry and a champion of site-specific Oregon Pinot Noirs. He and his wife, Karen, are noted philanthropists, and have dedicated themselves to advancing the Oregon wine industry and their local communities.
Jim Gullo is a McMinnville author and journalist whose articles about wine, travel and regional subjects appear in the Oregon Wine Press, Alaska Airlines Magazine, Portland Monthly and the Horizon Airlines Magazine. He has written ten books that include Trading Manny and The Comedy Keeper.
